I believe in easy access to evidence based breastfeeding education for all families. I partner with Carrie Dean, IBCLC, CST to bring a comprehensive and down to earth class to the community designed to answer all your questions. We cover the early weeks of breastfeeding and how to get off to a great start. Knowing what to expect in those first few days makes a huge difference to your confidence and success in feeding your baby. You will feel empowered and know how to tell if your baby is getting enough milk at the breast. You will know when to reach out for more support and what's normal. Questions are encouraged. We love a great conversation! This class is in-person. Next Class: To Be Determined. Stay tuned for details! This class is located at 450 Mamaroneck Ave, Suite 414, Harrison, NY, 10528 in the yoga studio. There is ample parking and it is handicap/stroller accessible.
I am excited to announce our weekly Infant Feeding Support Group! This group will take place every Wednesday at 10:00 am. The Infant feeding support group is for infants birth to 4 months old and their primary caregiver. The group is led by two experienced IBCLCs, Carrie Dean, IBCLC, CST, and myself, Cathy Walker, MA, RN, IBCLC. There will also be guest speakers. A scale will be available for weigh-ins. Get support with nursing, milk supply, bottle feeding, formula feeding and so much more. Make friends and find your village. This group will be held at the Harrison location noted above. Stay tuned for our first meeting.
Pumping and Bottlefeeding Classes Next Class is October 4th at 6:30 pm This class is online only. I host a pumping and bottlefeeding class which takes place virtually using Google Meets. Who is this class for? Anyone who wants to know more about making milk, using & choosing pumps, flange information, building and maintaining the milk supply, and bottlefeeding. We will discuss ideal choices for bottle shapes and how to know if your new baby is having an effective and enjoyable bottle feeding session. We will cover appropriate milk volumes & how to combine breast and bottle feeding. Understanding the various pumps that are available to you and what they can do is vital. Get reliable information on equipment to support your goals. We will cover maximizing milk supply, and preparation for going back to work and avoiding a dip in milk supply. Questions are really encouraged as I prefer to have a conversation during my classes! Partners are welcome. Register by clicking the "Book a Class" button.
